Wandoan Coal Project EIS

Client: PB

Streamline Hydro was engaged by PB on behalf of Xstrata to provide field services for the EIS groundwater investigations for the proposed Wandoan Coal Project. The Wandoan Coal Project is located west of Wandoan township approximately 350 km northwest of Brisbane and is intended to initially produce 30 million tonnes per annum of coal. Services provided by Streamline Hydro included drilling and well construction supervision, groundwater monitoring and sampling, data logger installation and maintenance and test pumping.

Perched Lake Impact Assessments

Client: Consolidated Rutile Limited (CRL)

Streamline Hydro was engaged by CRL to undertake a series of desktop studies to determine whether any harm was caused to perching layers associated with certain perched water bodies by CRL's historic mining operations. The project involved collation and review of historical drilling, water level, topographic and aerial photography to determine the location of the perching layers followed by collation and review of mining data to determine what impact, if any mining had on the perching layers. In some instances the studies resulted in recommendations for drilling investigations to be undertaken to provide confirmation of impact or otherwise.

Kunioon Mine EIS

Client: PB

Streamline Hydro was engaged by PB on behalf of Tarong Energy Corporation to provide field services for the EIS groundwater investigations for the Kunioon Mine. The Kunioon Mine will be located approximately 15 km south of Kingaroy in southeast Queensland and is intended to produce 10 million tonnes per annum of coal to fuel Tarong and Tarong North Power Stations. Services provided by Streamline Hydro included drilling and well construction supervision, groundwater monitoring and sampling, data logger installation and maintenance. Groundwater sampling was undertaken by low flow methods which minimises drawdown, mixing and formation stress, results in low turbidity, improved sample accuracy and reduced purge volumes and yields samples that represent formation water and naturally mobile species and not stagnant water in the well or mobilised species.

Enterprise Mine Test Pumping

Client: Consolidated Rutile Limited (CRL)

Streamline Hydro was engaged by CRL to undertake variable rate pumping tests on four new high yield bores at the Enterprise Mine on North Stradbroke Island to assist CRL in correct pump specification for these bores. The project involved test pumping each bore at four different flow rates for a total of eight hours and monitoring the groundwater levels during and after pumping. The maximum bore depth and flow rates were 120 m and 32 L/s respectively. Wellmaster flexible rising main was selected for this project due to the difficult site access conditions associated with the soft sand dune environment.

Felton Hybrid Energy Project

Client: Ambre Energy Limited

Streamline Hydro was engaged by Ambre Energy Limited to provide field services for the groundwater investigations for the proposed Felton Hybrid Energy Project. Services provided by Streamline Hydro included airlift purge and development of eight monitoring wells previously constructed by Ambre Energy's drilling contractor. Water samples were subsequently collected from the wells for determination of field parameters and laboratory analysis followed by the installation of water level data loggers for the collection of temporal groundwater levels.
